For businesses, a blog is a great way to showcase your knowledge, expertise, and provide insights that can help clients and customers.

If you're wondering about how to set up your blog on Webflow, continue reading for details.

Starting Your Webflow Blog

Note: These steps assume that you've already created a Webflow account, and have purchased the CMS plan. You'll need to sign up for this to start using Webflow's powerful CMS to run your blog.

Step 1: Set up a collection

First things first - you'll need to set up a collection. Webflow uses Collections to manage dynamic content like blog posts.

With Webflow, you can create any kind of collection you want, and include any kind of information you'd like for blog posts. If you're not sure where to begin, you can start by choosing a collection template. For example, Webflow offers collection templates for blog posts, which can be a good place to start.

Step 2: Create a layout for your blog pages

In Webflow, every collection you make automatically creates a collection page:

Blog Post

You can design your blog post page however you'd like. You can start off with a blog template from Webflow, but I personally love designing from scratch to get the look and functionality you'd like to achieve. It takes work to set up, but it's highly recommended.

As for content, here are a few tips on what you might want to include:

  • Navigation to different blog posts to promote further reading
  • Clear, intuitive navigation to all other pages
  • Affiliate link disclosure (if you're promoting products)

Once you've set up your blog post template's design, make sure to bind the content so it will autopopulate with your blog post's content.

Step 3: Add Your Blog Post

Once you've set up the templated page for your blog post, you can create your first post to see how it will populate. Personally, I like to double check each blog post in my staging site before publishing.

Make sure everything looks great before you publish it to your live site.

Step 4: Publish!

Once you're happy with how your blog looks, publish and launch your blog post. That's it!
